Utility Workers Host Informational Rally Shedding Light on SoCalGas’ Attempts to Outsource Union Jobs

Utility Workers Union of America Local 132, joined by union allies and community members, held an informational rally outside of the SoCalGas call center in San Dimas to raise awareness around SoCalGas’ actions. 

Customer service work traditionally performed by American Union workers is being outsourced to other countries, raising concerns about service quality, data protection, and accountability. SoCalGas customers depend on Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to answer questions, address billing concerns, schedule service appointments, and assist customers during emergencies.

American Union Customer service jobs support working families throughout Southern California. When these jobs leave our country, local families and local economies are impacted. UWUA Local 132 will continue to meet with members and raise awareness around this matter.
