The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor proudly announces its resounding endorsement of State Senator Maria Elena Durazo in the race for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors District 1.

“Senator Durazo exemplifies what it truly means to be a champion for working people. Her unwavering commitment to advocating for the needs and voices of union members is unmatched,” declared Yvonne Wheeler, President of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. “She is a genuine warrior for working people, and we stand united behind Senator Durazo as she takes on the pivotal role of shaping a brighter future for all working families in LA County.”

From her beginnings in the fields as the daughter of migrant workers to her tireless advocacy for workers’ rights, Senator Durazo has dedicated her life to empowering California’s workforce. She has successfully championed transformative legislation that directly benefits working-class Californians, including raising the minimum wage to $25 for healthcare workers, expanding access to Medi-Cal, and enhancing wages for individuals with disabilities.

“The stories and struggles of immigrants and working-class individuals have guided my journey and fueled my passion for advocacy,” said Durazo. “I am both honored and deeply grateful to receive this endorsement from the Los Angeles County Labor movement, and I pledge to continue fighting for the dignity and rights of all workers.”

As the campaign moves forward, Senator Durazo remains committed to ensuring that the voices of working families are heard loud and clear in the halls of power.
