All Hands on Deck: LA Fed Raises Nearly $1 Million for Labor Community Services Wildfire Relief Efforts

01.30.25

Several thousand union members across the county are deeply impacted by the wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles County earlier this month, with 1000 confirmed union members who have lost their homes.

Whether it’s workers on strike, job loss, disaster relief, or any hardship, Labor Community Services is always there to heed the call and assist union members in need.

As we begin to recover from this monumental tragedy, Labor Community Services is working tirelessly to distribute resources and aid to wildfire victims when they need it most.

Below is more information and links to Labor Community Service’s intake form. Currently, LCS is providing rental and utility assistance, food boxes and vouchers, and Airbnb vouchers for up to a 30-day stay.

Recognizing the lengthy recovery and rebuilding process, LCS has set up a wildfire relief fund to support union members on their road to normalcy.

In lockstep with Labor Community Services in assisting with wildfire aid, LA County Fed President Yvonne Wheeler has helped to raise nearly one million dollars for the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund, with the LA County Fed donating 200 thousand dollars.

“We are incredibly blessed and grateful to have Labor Community Services for everything they do to help those in need, especially now as we work through the tragedy of these wildfires,” said LA Fed President Yvonne Wheeler, “now more than ever, the LA County Fed is proud to be a partner of LCS and are committed to helping recovery efforts to ensure working families come back stronger.”

Details on donating to Labor Community Services and the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund are below.
