The Young Workers Education Project: Building the Movement in High School

Students throughout LA County are learning about their workers’ rights, the labor movement’s history, and collective bargaining. Over the last few months, hundreds of young people have learned about the power of collective bargaining with the support of union members, federal mediators, labor lawyers, and university faculty. With the new CA law AB 800, high schools throughout the state are now required to teach young people their rights in the workplace. We are building students’ knowledge and confidence to care for themselves, co-workers, families, and communities.
