SEIU 721: Reaches Tentative Agreement with LA County at the Common Language Table
06.19.25
Following a historic two-day strike by the 55,000 LA County workers and members of SEIU Local 721, the elected Bargaining Policy Committee has secured a strong Tentative Agreement with LA County at the Common Language Table.
The TA secures historic cash bonuses, cost-of-living adjustments, and increases to annual healthcare contributions, while also countering the County’s efforts to include language that would allow management to reduce raises unilaterally in the future.
Thanks to the organizing and action of SEIU 721 members, some of the additional language secured includes:
- $7,000 in total cash bonuses
- 7% COLA increases over the life of the contract
- An 8% annual healthcare contribution (24% over three years)
- Beat back the County’s proposed “Poison Pill” language, allowing them to cut raises in the future
- Improvements to grievance language, expanded union access to NEOs, and a commitment to fill County vacancies
Despite reaching a tentative agreement (TA) at the Common Language table, SEIU 721’s Bargaining Unit (BU) tables are still negotiating.
