LA Labor Rolls Deep at 2026 CA Federation of Labor Unions and CA State Building and Construction Trades Council Joint Legislative Pre-Primary Convention

Union members and LA Fed affiliates journeyed to Sacramento as part of the 2026 CA Federation of Labor Unions and CA State Building and Construction Trades Council Joint Legislative Pre-Primary Convention.

At the Pre-Primary Convention, the LA County Federation of Labor was awarded the California Federation of Labor Unions Statewide Award of Excellence 2025 for the Los Angeles Convention Center Expansion victory. 

To close out the convention, union members with UAW, IATSE, CWA, SEIU 1000, CSEA, Actors Equity, AFSCME, IBEW 47, AFT 1521-A, Machinists, and Utility Workers participated in a lobby day meeting with CA legislators on a slew of pro-worker bills. 

From ChatGPT to Robot Bosses and driverless cars, employers are using tech tools to replace, surveil, manage, and degrade work and workers. These bills are the first steps toward establishing new labor standards for the 21st-century worker and technology.
