Labor in the Pulpit: Exploring the Intersection of Faith and Labor

08.19.26

Every year, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor partners with Houses of Worship across the county to join in fellowship alongside the labor movement and promote shared values through the Labor in the Pulpit program.

This year’s series began with LA Fed President Yvonne Wheeler leading a delegation of labor and community leaders from Long Beach and Carson to Brister Memorial Baptist Church, where we contributed to the church’s Back-to-School fund.

On the following Sunday, Senator Maria Elena Durazo led a delegation to Dolores Mission Catholic Church in Boyle Heights, a key part of the community’s recovery after the devastating Lineage Fire.

Now more than ever, building solidarity and engaging the Interfaith Community are crucial to safeguarding our democracy and supporting our neighbors. We look forward to continuing our Labor in the Pulpit visits ahead of Labor Day.
