Labor Takes Care of Their Own: Standing with our Federal Workers as the Government Shutdown Continues

As the government remains shut down, hundreds of thousands of federal workers are being put on leave or forced to work without pay. More than 80% of federal workers live outside Washington, with ~150,679 of those federal workers in California.
AFGE Local 1260 represents the ~2500 TSA agents throughout Southern California, and is one such workforce that is being forced to work without pay.
The LA Fed, in conjunction with Labor Community Services, joined by Democratic Members of Congress, held a press conference and distributed food boxes to federal workers at LAX who may be in need.
Every day the government shutdown drags on, workers and their families are forced to make impossible choices. That is why the LA Labor movement is stepping in to ensure that working people can feed their families and continue making ends meet.
