LA Fed Outreach and Civic Engagement Department Kicks Off ‘Labor in the Pulpit’ Series

The LA Fed’s Outreach and Civic Engagement Team has been digging deep and building solidarity and power for the Labor Movement in the community with their “Labor in the Pulpit” series, where labor leaders attend different churches throughout LA County to discuss the shared role labor and faith play in a community.

“Labor in the Pulpit” is about connection, and is a chance for us to lift up sacred stories and stand in solidarity with working folks who are still fighting for what should be guaranteed: dignity, respect, healthcare, fair wages, and the right to organize because we know the work of justice doesn’t pause at the doors of faith leaders’ sanctuaries.

President Wheeler spoke at Holman United Methodist, and Outreach Director Devin Ablard spoke at a local Mosque, Masjid At-Thorir. Their next stop is First AME Church in Los Angeles this upcoming Sunday, where President Wheeler will address their congregation.
