LA Labor Movement Celebrates President Joe Biden & Vice-President Kamala Harris

Statement by Ron Herrera, President of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO on the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris:

“With today’s inauguration, the working people of our country can take a long-awaited deep breath of relief. This peaceful transfer of power adds to another great chapter in our tradition and reaffirms our dedication to democracy.  

If the Labor Movement has taught us anything, it’s that elections are not the end of the story. Even after a long campaign, we can all still come together and lend a helping hand to our fellow brothers and sisters, working together for a greater cause. To some, that may seem outrageous but to us, that’s just solidarity. The same principle that built our tallest buildings, our longest roads, and our greatest cities.   

The Los Angeles Labor Movement congratulates President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris. We look forward to working hand-in-hand to heal our nation, build our great country, and strengthen the rights of the American worker.”
