POSITION DESCRIPTION
Labor Community Services Program of Los Angeles (LCS) is recruiting a Warehouse Associate. The warehouse operation is crucial to our mission of distributing food and other goods to over 350,000 individuals each year. Generally, the Warehouse Associate will receive, input, sort, load, deliver and unload food and other products to LCS events and our partners. LCS is a non-profit organization that serves unemployed and underemployed workers in Los Angeles County and is the non-profit partner of the LA County Federation of Labor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Examine accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Inspect products for defects and damages
- Receive, unload and appropriately place food and goods in designated areas
- Process, package and ship orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Check, verify and validate vendor deliveries to warehouse
- Check, verify and make deliveries from the warehouse to LCS partners
- Drive 26 foot dry and/or refrigerated box trucks (CDL not required)
- Deliver and unload pallets of food and other goods to various locations
- Abide by all job-related, hygiene, and food safety regulations
- Organize stock, account for and maintain inventory
- Maintain daily warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures for LCS efficiency
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Some weekend work and other overtime is required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Previous warehouse experience
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment; Must be California certified to operate a forklift
- Adequate knowledge of warehouse systems
- Team player with organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs and/or move heavy products with appropriate equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Must pass background check
SALARY
$22.00 – $25.00 hourly depending on experience. The LCS benefit package includes employer-paid medical, dental, and a vision plan for full-time employees and their qualified dependents, as well as life and disability benefits after probationary period.
