Los Angeles NALC Branch 24 President Lawrence Brown will be asking all residents in Los Angeles and surrounding communities to leave NON-PERISHABLE, UNOPENED food by their mailboxes on Saturday, MAY 12th. Each Letter Carrier will pick up the food left along their routes and return the food to the Local Post Offices where it will then be distributed to Local Food Banks. Since 1994, Branch 24 alone has collected 14,837,767pounds of food for needy people in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

President Lawrence Brown asks all residents to help make this a successful community effort by contributing food for those less fortunate in our own community. With the high unemployment in California, the need is great. Collections will be made in cities throughout the USA. Brown declared “Our goal is to fill every Food Bank, every year, in every community nationwide.”
