Organizing Institute Empowers New Leaders in Labor Movement
Congratulations to the 43 new graduates of our Organizing Institute.
The three-day training began on Friday, May 3 with participants learning the fundamentals of Union organizing, leadership development, and how to move their colleagues into action.

“The training was informative and really connected us to the labor movement,” said Julian Torres, Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU). “I am motivated and ready to organize.”
Several of our graduates will be joining UFCW 770 and the Fair Workweek Coalition for a ten-day organizing drive, helping build member power and organizing retail workers across Los Angeles.
Since 2017, we have had five three-day organizing trainings resulting in approximately 200 graduates and over 2000 new and recommitted union members. Participants of the program have gone on to become leaders within their unions and organizations.
More trainings are planned for the future. Thank you to all of our attendees and facilitators for making this training a great success.
