More Than 50 Advocates Keep ICE from Conducting Business as Usual

Huge victory for the Los Angeles Raids Rapid Response Network (RRRN)! The RRRN, made up of immigrant, civil, and human rights organizations, immigration attorneys, labor, and faith leaders monitored the parking lot at a 7-Eleven store in Koreatown since early morning on Tuesday, January 16.

We were prepared to rally and denounce an ICE action, but near the 10 a.m. hour ICE decided not to show up. The RRRN learned that ICE had communicated with the store’s owner and told her they would not be visiting the location after they saw our presence.

The RRRN held an impromptu press conference outside the store to celebrate the news and committed to keep coming back to stop ICE from scaring our community and disrupting local businesses!

Families impacted by ICE raids who need referrals and services may call the Raids Rapid Response Network hotline at (888) 624-4752.
