Let’s Keep the Momentum Going
Last week, port drivers and warehouse workers along with hundreds of supporters took part in strikes at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach that lasted the entire week. They protested their employer’s unfair labor practices and called on LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia to provide needed leadership to end what USA Today called “indentured servitude” in its year-long investigation report entitled, “Rigged”.
We made a lot of progress last week, but we still need your help convincing the mayors now is the time to act. Can you call the Mayors of LA and Long Beach right now to let them know you stand with port drivers and warehouse workers and encourage them to lead on this issue?
Call LA Mayor Eric Garcetti (213) 978-0600 and leave a message.
Call Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia (562) 570-6801 and ask to leave a message for the Mayor.
