Celebrating MLK Weekend

Date: Mon, 15 Jan 2018

Join us on Monday, January 15, to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy and the hope he instilled in our country at the annual Kingdom Day Parade. The basic freedoms we enjoy today are because of his tireless efforts in organizing communities of all backgrounds, races, and religions. Now more than ever, it’s up to us to live up to that legacy and carry on the unfinished work of Dr. King’s dream by remaining united as we fight any hateful rhetoric that targets our communities.

Kingdom Day Parade
When: Monday, January 15, at 11 a.m.

To continue paying tribute to his work, join us next Saturday, January 20, at our annual MLK Day Breakfast with U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and multi-platinum Grammy Award winning recording artist Faith Evans! For the second year in a row, we are proud to have the Senator speak at our Breakfast. We are looking at her leadership to lead California and our nation in the right direction.

We’re also honored to have Vanita Gupta as our keynote speaker. As President of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Vanita Gupta is carrying on the groundbreaking work she did under President Obama as head of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice. The growing breadth of Civil Rights in 2018 honors what Dr. King achieved.

Learn more about her background here.
