Book Talk With Joerg Rieger

Date: Thu, 16 Feb 2017

Please join the UCLA Labor Center on Thursday, February 16, for a Book Talk.

Joerg Rieger, author of Unified We Are A Force, will be reading portions of his book and discussing how faith and the labor movement could radicalize and lift up each other’s efforts for social justice. For more than two decades, Joerg has worked to bring together theology and the struggles for justice and liberation.

Joerg Rieger is the Cal Turner Chancellor’s Chair in Wesleyan Studies and Distinguished Professor of Theology at the Divinity School and the Graduate Program of Religion at Vanderbilt University. His work addresses the relationship between theology and public life, reflecting on the misuse of power in religion, politics, and economics. His main interest is in developments and movements that bring about change and in the positive contributions of religion and theology.
